Dr Sarita Singh

Dr Sarita Singh is a Consultant Dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster and the Royal Brompton Hospitals, London. She graduated from King’s College London School of Medicine with a number of academic awards. Dr Singh undertook an intercalated BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and awarded a prize for the best thesis. She trained in Dermatology at University College London Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Singh was granted a two year Research Fellowship to undertake an MD on melanoma at the Royal Marsden and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, Imperial College London. She has presented her research nationally and internationally and was a co-recipient of the prestigious Everett C Fox Award for most outstanding laboratory research presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Resident’s symposium. She is research lead for the Dermatology department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Dr Singh’s main clinical and research interests are in skin cancer, hair and nail disorders and inflammatory skin diseases. She runs a General Dermatology clinic, where she sees patients with acne, eczema, psoriasis, pigmented skin lesions, skin infections and autoimmune related skin diseases. In addition, she runs a minor operations list for mole excisions and skin biopsies.
In 2012, Dr Singh set up a specialist Hair clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, one of the few dedicated services in the UK. She also runs the specialist cutaneous sarcoidosis service at The Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Singh teaches medical students, Dermatology trainees, GPs and allied health professionals. She is secretary of the Senior Skin Group, a special interest group of the British Association of Dermatologists that aims to stimulate interest in the skin of the elderly and promote the topic as a subject for postgraduate training. She reviews care pathways and patient information for Map of Medicine and NHS Choices.
