Dr Ina Cambur

BIOGRAPHY

Dr Ina Cambur is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in London. She has broad expertise across general rheumatology, with specialist interests in inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases and vasculitis.

She assesses and treats a wide range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, polymyalgia rheumatica, gout, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.

Dr Cambur has a particular focus on the early recognition and treatment of inflammatory arthritis and previously held a departmental lead role for the Early Inflammatory Arthritis service at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. Her specialist interests also include connective tissue diseases and vasculitis, including the assessment and management of complex systemic autoimmune disease. She is experienced in the use of conventional disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologic therapies and targeted therapies.

Dr Cambur graduated from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest and completed her specialist training in Rheumatology in Romania. She has worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist in the NHS since 2022, having previously worked at Southend University Hospital and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals before joining Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

She has undertaken additional training in musculoskeletal ultrasound through EULAR and UK-based courses and performs joint aspiration and corticosteroid injections as part of her clinical practice.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Cambur is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and clinical supervision. She has received recognition for excellence in undergraduate clinical teaching.

Dr Cambur takes a thorough and thoughtful approach to patient care, taking time to listen and understand each patient’s concerns and the wider clinical picture. She places great importance on careful assessment, accurate diagnosis and evidence-based treatment, while explaining findings and treatment options in a clear and straightforward way. Whether assessing a new problem or managing an established rheumatological condition, she works closely with her patients to make decisions together and ensure they feel listened to, well informed and confident in their care.
